About Twitter's restriction
Every app that uses Twitter's API is restricted in one way or another
For example: apps can only request data for a number of times per hour
This is also known as the 'rate limit'
How is ByeBuddy affected by this?
Since ByeBuddy doesn't require users to authenticate, all requests are sent by ByeBuddy
If users would have to authenticate, all requests would be sent by the users instead
Rate limits would then apply per authenticated user, which is a lot better
Right now the rate limit applies for ByeBuddy only and not for its users
This means the rate limit is exceeded much faster then if users would have to authenticate.
The rate limit has been reached just now!
To prevent being blacklisted by Twitter, users are now temporarily unable to use ByeBuddy
So, when can I start using ByeBuddy again?
You'll have to wait until the rate limit is reset, this happens every hour
Unfortunately nothing can be done about that
How is this going to affect the future?
ByeBuddy is growing rapidly every day and so is the risk of exceeding the rate limit
To prevent that from happening a user can only check once every 30 minutes
There is also a maximum of 10.000 followers per user and 100 unfollowers per check
I still have some questions!
That's okay, just click the tweet button below and state your question
You'll receive a reply as soon as possible
Everything you need to know
The following information is shared with you
About
There are already quite a few Twitter unfollower trackers on the world wide web
However, most of them require you to log in with your Twitter username and password
Besides that, many of them won't even show who unfollowed you!
With ByeBuddy you don't have to login using your precious Twitter credentials
It's totally free and it shows you exactly who unfollowed you
How it works
All you have to do is insert your Twitter username and click the yellow 'Show Me' button
The first time you use ByeBuddy it will store all your current followers onto our servers
Everytime you return, your current followers will be compared with the previous entry
If there's a difference the results will be logged and shown to you, makes sense right?
For reference, ByeBuddy assigns your unfollowers to certain tweets you've posted
This way you can pinpoint the exact moment when users stopped following you
When you post a new tweet, ByeBuddy sets a new mark and the cycle starts all over again
Please keep in mind that the loading time depends of the number of your current followers
The more you have, the longer it takes for ByeBuddy to compare and show any results
This also counts for the number of unfollowers
Privacy
The information gathered by ByeBuddy is publicly available on Twitter
This means there's no access to any e-mail addresses or passwords whatsoever
Your usage is being tracked by a internal management system and by Google Analytics™
Don't worry! This is just to improve and optimize the ByeBuddy service in the near future
If you'd rather not be listed as an unfollower, you could request a 'hidden' status
Note: this will also mean you'll be unable to use ByeBuddy in the future!
Just click the tweet button below to request your hidden status
